Purpose and who uses it

Reports answer what happened in one area; Analytics reads across areas and says what it means.

Analytics is the manager's view. Where Reports lists the figures of one area, Analytics puts occupancy next to rate, rooms next to the restaurant, this period next to the last, and writes a few sentences at the top about what stands out: a rise bought with discounts, a weak weekday, one booking channel doing most of the work, a month heading into the red.

Hotel Managers have full access and can export any tab. The Accountant and the Restaurant Manager read it. Nothing here changes data: it is a window on the same bookings, folios, tickets, tasks and expenses the other screens write.

    What the figures say
Up to six sentences the system derives from the figures. They only appear when the numbers justify them; an empty period says nothing.
  4. 4
    Figures and blocks
The KPI strip with the change against the previous period, then charts and tables. Tables sort by any column.

Reading the insights

Each sentence names a figure, its direction and what usually causes it.

  1. 1
    Trends
A figure that moved five percent or more against the previous period is named, with whether that is good or bad for the hotel (a rise in refunds is not).
  2. 2
    Patterns
Occupancy up while the rate fell points at discounting; the strongest and weakest weekday suggest where an offer helps; one source above half of bookings is a dependency worth knowing.
  3. 3
    Thresholds
Cancellations above fifteen percent, voided lines above five percent, cleans over an hour, ten or more open work orders, stays under one and a half nights: each has a sentence with the usual remedy.
  4. 4
    Forecast
How much of the next 30 nights is sold, when the first full night is, whether the month projects into the red, and how many expenses are still awaiting approval.
